Personal data processed during communication and service provision
We collect the information you provide to us when you contact us, when you visit the Website or use our Mobile App, when you use our services, or when you apply for a job with us.
This may include general personal data, such as name and contact details, and, if applicable, details of your position or role with the organization on whose behalf you are contacting us.
If you apply for a job with us, we collect your resume and other information about your qualifications, which you submit to us as part of your application file.
We also process personal data that we receive from third parties. This regularly includes personal data that we receive in correspondence or meetings with customers, suppliers or other business partners, e.g. your name and details of your activity as an employee with the respective customer, supplier or business partner.
To the extent necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, we also collect general personal data from publicly accessible registers, websites or platforms (e.g. to verify your authorization to sign) or by obtaining information from third parties (e.g. for reference purposes in the application process, if you consent to this).
Provision and use of our Website and Mobile App
Use for information
You can find out about CheckUrMed on the Website without telling us who you are and can use our native Mobile App CheckUrMed (“Mobile App”) without registering as a user.
As with any connection to a web server, the server on which we have the Website and Mobile App provided automatically logs and stores certain technical data for a short time. This includes the IP address, and operating system of your device, the date and time of use, and the type of browser you use to access the Website or to communicate with our servers.
Use of our Mobile App
We operate the Mobile App, available on certain app stores. You don’t have to create an account to use the Mobile App. However, a device fingerprint is created to identify the App on your device.
When you scan the packaging of a medication, your Mobile App sends the scan along with the approximate geolocation linked to a hashed device fingerprint to our servers. The result is then sent back to your Mobile App. To ensure the privacy of your data, we only store the hash value, the approximate geolocation, and the scan. Due to the use of the hash value, we cannot reconnect it to a user. Therefore, all data is stored in an anonymized format on our servers. We do not store any personal information on our servers.
Web analytics
We use web analysis services to evaluate the use of the website and to obtain information for its optimization. The web analytics services we use collect and store user data using cookies. Before they are transmitted to a server outside Switzerland/EU/EEA, the requesting IP addresses are shortened. We therefore do not transmit any personal data to the providers of the web analytics services abroad.
You can learn more about our use of web analysis services by using the Cookie Preferences tool implemented on the website.
Social Plug-ins
The social plug-ins used on the Website allow you to recommend and share our content on social networks. You can recognize the social plug-ins on the Website by the logos of the respective social network. When you interact with the social plug-in, data is sent to the respective provider of the social network.
Resources from external websites
We include resources from external servers on our Website and Mobile App. These contain visible content as well as technical resources.
The technical resources are used to improve the performance or security of our Website. When retrieving these resources, the operator of the external servers learns your IP address and/or certain traffic data that are necessary for the use of the servers of the external operator.
Note on the use of cookies
We use cookies, tags, and similar technologies on the Website to provide you with the best possible user experience and to help us improve the Website. Cookies are text files that are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use an app.
Some of the cookies we use are necessary to provide certain functions or content of the Website (e.g. the integration of videos or map functions). In addition, we use cookies to enable the analysis of the use of the Website and for the optimization of our services.
You can instruct your browser not to accept cookies or to prompt you each time before a cookie is set. You can also delete cookies on your device by using the corresponding function of your browser. In addition, you have the option of informing us of your preferences regarding the acceptance of cookies via the Cookie Preferences tool used on the Website.
Use of our social media pages
On our company pages in social media, you will find posts about current developments at CheckUrMed as well as our range of services.
The social media providers collect and analyze usage data such as the number of visitors and demographic information about the visitors to our social media pages. We receive evaluations from the social media providers based on this data. These contain only aggregated or otherwise sufficiently anonymized data. Only the respective provider can identify you based on the usage data collected. Therefore, please observe the data protection information of the respective provider.
Use of our newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the information you provide to us. This includes general personal data such as first name, last name and email address.
You can inform us at any time that you do not wish to receive our newsletter in the future. Please use the unsubscribe link at the end of the newsletter.

We may create photo, video, or audio recordings during customer events or other events (online and physical events). If you prefer not to have close-up photos, videos, or audio recordings of yourself, please let us know, and we will respect your request.

You have the following rights in relation to personal data relating to you:
- the right to obtain information about what personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
